Video Tutorial #2
Sending CHEEReader Messages!
Positive Encouragement for Every Child

Welcome to our second Video Tutorial in the Ooka Lighthouse!

My name is Jim Barber and I am the CEO and creative director at Ooka Island Reading Programs. Today I would like to share a quick video with you on using the Lighthouse, Ooka Island’s real-time online data reporting system.

This video tutorial will show you how to enable the CHEEReader Messaging System from the Lighthouse.

Once you are on the Ooka Lighthouse main page, just click on the CHEEReader button at the top. Clicking here takes you to the CHEEReader messaging page. This is an optional function that enables the account manager to send a message of positive encouragement to the young learner each time they log in.

Lighthouse - CHEEReader

On the CHEEReader page, choose the player you would like to send a CHEEReader message to from the drop down box and then type in the name of who the message is from.

Next you have a choice to choose 5 specific messages for the next 5 times the player logs in, or you can click the option shown below

CHEEReader Automatic

and the game will send the CHEEReader messages automatically each time the player logs in for the duration of the game.

The image below shows some of the message options available, for account managers to send to young learners playing the Ooka Island Adventure.

These are just a few of the Ooka Lighthouse functions. Please check out our other presentations to find out about the Ooka Lighthouse progress reports created for every young learner that learns how to read while they explore on Ooka Island.

Have a great day and read on!
